Whatever else one could say about Sienne l'Hiver, you can't fault it for lacking a concept. This is as valid an expression of winter in a bottle as one is ever likely to get. How you feel about that is something else. I find SH engaging, even fascinating, on an intellectual level. I'm still working out how that translates to my desire to wear it.

In the winter of 2007, the tiny niche Italian house of l'Eau d'Italie launched a scent called Sienne l'Hiver. It was crafted under the careful creative direction of the house's Owners — the Italian Marina Sersale and the Argentine Sebastián Alvarez Murena — by the French perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour, who is without a doubt one of the most interesting artists working in the field.
